Pareto Principle: the law of trivial many, but vital few

In 1906, civil engineer and economist Vilfredo Pareto, observed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population. Intrigued by this distribution he then began to apply this formula to other countries and found the same pattern occurred. Further academic scholars applied this principle to other aspects of business/people/nature and found the 80/20 rule to apply.

Within facilities management there are numerous examples of this rule. Have you ever considered that 80% of complaints come from 20% of staff or 80% of utilities usage comes from 20% of the plant? What about 80% of your day being taken up with low-level operational FM tasks not allowing you to focus on the important 20%?

At Pareto facilities management we design our services so that our teams manage the 80% allowing you to focus on the strategic 20%. We design our software systems to allow real-time information flow combined with high level account management and board level management reporting. All allowing you to focus on your day job and allowing Pareto to deliver facilities excellence.

Sound like a refreshing change? Our approach to FM is different, we are unique. Call Andrew Hulbert, Managing Director, to find out how we can help you on your journey to facilities excellence.
