Pareto FM mentee, Tanya Horscroft, wins BIFM Rising FM Award 2015

Pareto FM is delighted to extend its congratulations to Tanya Brick for her recent success in winning the BIFM Award for Rising Talent in FM. Tanya was the first mentee to join the Pareto Optimality Mentoring programme around twelve months ago and has been working alongside Managing Director, Andrew Hulbert, ever since.

Andrew commented ‘In the last twelve months we’ve seen Tanya grow in confidence, ambition and importance in the facilities management industry. She is a true inspiration to young managers and women alike in FM and we’re proud to have contributed to her journey. We look on with anticipation about where her ambition will take her next and look forward to contributing further in her career.’

Tanya commented 'I was the first mentee to join the Pareto Optimality Mentoring programme around twelve months ago, and have been working alongside their Managing Director, Andrew Hulbert, ever since. Together, we work on mapping out my future goals (both short and long-term), and a strategy behind how I plan to achieve them. We also identify areas in which I would like to become stronger – Andrew helps me to overcome my fears, and is always on hand for advice. Having such a strong and courageous mentor has helped grow my own confidence and ambition.'

Tanya Horscroft, facilities manager with Capita Property & Infrastructure and BIFM Women In FM deputy chair, is the second recipient of the BIFM’s new Rising Talent award.

Horscroft (née Brick) is facilities manager with Capita Property & Infrastructure, and since July has been responsible for a portfolio of more than 45 properties in the City of London and the West End.

She entered FM as a floor manager for Johnson Controls’ Goldman Sachs account in London in 2011, later becoming a property services coordinator. She completed the internal Silver Leadership Academy (including Chartered Management Institute accreditation), Projects Academy, and IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.

In 2012 she moved to Norland Managed Services on its Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (FBD) account as a customer service manager to learn more about M&E.

While there, she won the client’s Great Customer Service award, gaining the BIFM Level 4 Diploma and completing a NEBOSH award in Health and Safety at Work. She is on BIFM Rising FMs committee, and was BIFM Volunteer of the Year 2014.

Horscroft belongs to Women in the City and is a trustee for Volunteer Centre Greenwich. As well as spending time on Emcor’s M&G account as operations manager, she’s also served on both the BIFM’s Rising FMs and Women In FM committees - she was elected deputy chair of the latter in August this year.

Judges said they were impressed by Horscroft’s focus, dedication, understanding and commitment to promoting and inspiring others to choose FM as an exciting career option.

“We really enjoyed hearing Tanya’s rising story so far… She has true ambassadorial qualities, passion and stamina and has already made real positive impact and considerable contribution to her employer and the wider FM community,’ they added.
