Pareto join the Women's Engineering Society (WES)

Pareto Facilities Management is delighted to announce that we have joined the Women's Engineering Society (WES). WES is a charity and a professional network of women engineers offering encouragement, assistance and professional development.

Working in partnership with WES, Pareto will look to support and inspire women to achieve as engineers, scientists and as leaders. We are committed to championing the education of engineering and nurturing companies with gender diversity and inclusion.

Pareto’s collaboration with WES will substantially help to develop women in the engineering sphere and further demonstrate, to our teams, our on-going commitment to promoting women in our own organisation.

Encouraging women in engineering has been a cornerstone of Pareto’s ethos since inception. 2015 was the starting point on Pareto’s journey, as we looked to assess the structure of our organisation and the importance of balance. We regard this as especially relevant, in such a male dominated industry. We’ve actively and positively worked to build a senior management and engineering team that includes exceptional women as a fundamental part of Pareto’s delivery model. We are immensely proud of our record to date.

Pareto recognises the importance in understanding the journey of the pioneering women in our business, and providing them with a platform to share with others, across the FM industry.

During conversations with our key female team members, it became clear that, generally, young women are still not actively encouraged to pursue STEM subjects or exposed to engineering and construction as viable career opportunities.

We wanted to showcase the outstanding women within our business, attract more talent, and address the balance within our own company. We hope that, going forward, this will set a new benchmark for the FM industry. We believe that WES is the perfect partner to help us achieve this.

Paige Brookes, Engagement Manager for Pareto FM commented, “We’ve always been bold in our recruitment, our drive for diversity and having a voice in the sector. We actively look to build diverse teams through positive strategies which include ensuring our recruitment reaches a wide array of diverse candidates. This partnership with WES enables us to continue to outwardly show our teams and the sector that we are absolutely committed to being a diverse employer and creating fair and genuine opportunities for all. This is about showing the FM sector that there is a better way. This is about showing that Pareto is a leader in this area. We are excited to get started with WES and look forward to the inspirational outcomes we can achieve together.”
